Can you see how much I like oatmeal? It’s my to-go breakfast for the family and easy to track macros for me when I am doing so.   Since having my little one, I have been actively looking to learn about macro and micronutrients and understanding better the effect of what we eat in our bodies.

Regarding oatmeal, I am learning the benefits of soaking the oats before cooking them.  Doing so increases the digestibility of oats as it does and it enables the nutrients found in the grain to be better absorbed by our body. Oats, like all grains, contain physic acid which can inhibit the proper absorption of minerals link zinc and iron.  Do you like oats? What is your favorite way to cook it?

Here is an oatmeal option + veggie which is a good option for kids or anyone who wants to add veggies to their food:

– Oats (I am using for my breakfast macros 50g of oats for myself)

– 1/3 beet – 1/2 🍌 – 1.5 cup water – 1 tsp almond butter – 1 tbs hemp

1️⃣Soak your oats overnight or for couple hours.

2️⃣Cook the oat (for my 50gr of oats I use 1 cup of water), mix and lower the heat.  Add more water if needed.

3️⃣While the oats is cooking, blend 1/2 banana with beets and 1/4 cup of water.

4️⃣ When the oat is ready and warm, add the juice mis and your favorite topping including the hemp seeds.  I like to use unsweetened coconut, banana, strawberries. ✨
